Kentucky-Gonzaga clash set for Bridgestone Arena in Nashville

NASHVILLE – Music City will serve as the backdrop for the next matchup in the thrilling Kentucky-Gonzaga men’s basketball series when the two powerhouse programs battle at Bridgestone Arena on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025.

Tip time and television information will be announced later. Tickets go on-sale to the public on Friday, March 7 at 10 a.m. CT at www.bridgestonearena.com and on the Ticketmaster app.

“We are excited to continue the series with Gonzaga in Nashville next season,” UK head coach Mark Pope said. “I have a ton of respect for Mark Few and his program, which has been one of the best over the last two decades. We want to continue to put our team in challenging situations and provide BBN with opportunities to see Kentucky’s team play across the country. Nashville has been good to BBN over the years, and we look forward to seeing lots of Blue in Bridgestone Arena in December.”

The upcoming meeting in Nashville will mark the fourth in the series between Kentucky and Gonzaga originally announced prior to the 2022-23 campaign. Kentucky rallied from an 18-point deficit to claim a 90-89 overtime win in a matchup of Top 10 teams earlier this season (Dec. 7) in Seattle. Gonzaga won the first two meetings in the current series, 88-72 at the Spokane Arena in Washington in 2022 and an 89-85 decision at Rupp Arena in Lexington in 2024.

The all-time series is tied 2-2, beginning with an 80-72 Kentucky victory in the 2002 Maui Invitational.

The December 2025 Kentucky-Gonzaga contest marks the first regular-season game the Wildcats have played at Bridgestone Arena, which boasts the NHL’s Nashville Predators as its primary tenant. The venue also currently serves as the host site for the Southeastern Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament through 2035. UK owns a 20-6 all-time postseason record in the arena, including five league tournament titles (2001, 2010, 2015-2017) and two NCAA Tournament game victories (both in 2003).

Three Top-10 teams headline Vancouver Showcase Women’s Tournament

VANCOUVER, B.C.Top-ranked Notre dame will be joined by two other Top-10 teams in the inaugural Vancouver Showcase women’s tournament on Nov. 22-24 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. The Fighting Irish earned all 31 first-place votes in the preseason Associated Press poll and will start the season as the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation. Notre Dame will be joined in Vancouver by No. 8 Oregon State and No. 10 South Carolina in what many believe is the best in-season tournament ever assembled in women’s college basketball.

Notre Dame returns four starters from last year’s team that overcame several season-ending knee injuries to capture the school’s second national championship under coach Muffet McGraw. The Irish open play in Vancouver against West Coast Conference favorite and defending league champion Gonzaga at 12 p.m. PT on Thursday, Nov. 22.

“We talked about our goals and what we wanted to do and nothing was based on last year,” Notre Dame coach Muffet McGraw said to The Associated Press. The Fighting Irish return four starters from last year’s championship squad and they have their sights set on returning to the Final Four in Tampa in March. “I see a team that really wants to prove something again.”

Oregon State and South Carolina could meet in a semifinal match-up if both teams advance out of first-round play. The Beavers open with defending Conference USA champion Western Kentucky while South Carolina will play East Tennessee State. Both first-round games will be part of the evening session on Nov. 22.

The Vancouver Showcase will tip on Sunday, Nov. 18 with a men’s round-robin event featuring Washington, Santa Clara, Minnesota and Texas A&M. Last week, Washington earned Top-25 status in the preseason AP poll earning enough votes to occupy 24th place.

Ticket Information

Tickets for both the men’s and women’s sessions are on-sale now at TicketsTonight.ca or order by phone at 877.840.0457 (additional $5 per order via phone).

On the men’s side, four ranked teams in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top-25 will compete at Hertz Arena. No. 5 South Dakota State is once again the favorite in the Summit League. The Jackrabbits will joined by No. 11 Louisiana, No. 13 Toledo and No. 24 UC Irvine. Local favorite FGCU also will make the 2.5-mile trek from campus to Hertz Arena. The Eagles join perhaps the most-competitive field in the six years of the tournament with four teams that each won 20 or more games last season as well as a league title. South Dakota State earned an NCAA Tournament berth as Summit League champions finishing at 28-7 after falling to Ohio State in the Big Dance. Louisiana (Sun Belt), FGCU (A-Sun) and Toledo (MAC West Division) each won regular-season titles.

“I think it speaks volumes of how this event has grown since 2013 when you have two very recognizable programs such as Tulane and Colorado State, and yet they are not among your four top teams from last season in this field,” said Brooks Downing, whose company bd Global manages the annual event. “And to have FGCU back in the event with new coach Michael Fly hands down makes this our best tournament field yet.”

  • 11 a.m. ET – South Dakota State vs. Tulane
  • 1:30 p.m. ET – UC Irvine vs. UTSA

UNLV-BYU, Saint Mary’s-LSU headline nationally televised doubleheader on Dec. 15 at T-Mobile Arena

LAS VEGAS– A rivalry will be renewed when UNLV plays BYU on Saturday, Dec. 15 at T-Mobile Arena as part of a nationally televised doubleheader that includes LSU vs. Saint Mary’s. The event, dubbed the Neon Hoops Showcase, is now in its sixth year in Las Vegas as a benefit for Coaches vs. Cancer.

UNLV and BYU have not played each other since 2011 when both teams were members of the Mountain West Conference. The Runnin’ Rebels, coming off a 20-win season, are playing on the Las Vegas Strip for the fifth straight year. In 2016, UNLV opened T-Mobile Arena to college basketball before a record crowd of more than 19,000 versus Duke. Last season, coach Marvin Menzies raised the championship belt for the MGM Resorts Main Event on the same floor, defeating Utah in the title game.

“We are excited to continue our tradition of playing on the Las Vegas Strip in December,” said UNLV head coach Marvin Menzies. “UNLV and BYU have a strong basketball history and Coach Rose’s program has been successful for so many years. It will certainly be a challenge. We have had strong support from our fans in Las Vegas away from the Thomas & Mack Center and look forward to being at T-Mobile Arena on Dec. 15.”

BYU finished 24-11 last season, the 13th straight year with 20+ wins and postseason play for coach Dave Rose. The Cougars will be led by junior forward Yoeli Childs, who came back after testing the NBA Draft.

“We have a great history with UNLV so we’re excited to renew that rivalry and to support Coaches vs. Cancer,” said BYU head coach Dave Rose. “Coach Menzies has a talented team and it’s always a challenge playing UNLV in Vegas. It will be a great test for our team and we are excited to see all of our Vegas BYU fans at the game.”

LSU is widely expected to be a Top-25 team this season powered by a Top-5 recruiting class and All-SEC Freshman guard Tremont Waters. The Tigers will face a Saint Mary’s squad that was left out of the NCAA Tournament despite a 28-5 record on Selection Sunday. The LSU game marks the second trip to Vegas for the Gaels next season with SMC also playing in the MGM Resorts Main Event during Thanksgiving week.

The doubleheader will be televised on ESPN Networks. UNLV-BYU will tip at 5:30 p.m. PT on either ESPNEWS or ESPN3 following by LSU-St. Mary’s which will be shown on ESPNU. The event benefits Coaches vs. Cancer, an initiative spearheaded by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (www.nabc.com) and the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).

Tickets will be made available to UNLV season ticket holders at a discounted rate through a private sale. Runnin’ Rebel season ticket holders will be contacted by UNLV with details. Tickets will be available to the public starting Friday, Aug. 31 and can be purchased at AXS.com, t-mobilearena.com, neonhoopsvegas.com or by calling 888-9AXSTIX.
