NASSAU, The Bahamas – An amazing destination resort greets a standout collection of women’s basketball teams when Baha Mar plays host to the 2026 Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship, Monday, Nov. 23 and Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center. Veteran sports promoter bdG Sports announced the six participating teams Wednesday.
Iowa and Michigan, who both took part in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, highlight the field which includes three other squads that advanced to postseason play last season.
The event features a three-game schedule slated for both Nov. 23 and Nov. 25 with each of the six teams playing two games during their stay in the Bahamas.
Action begins at 11 a.m. ET on Nov. 23 with Toledo taking on Navy. Iowa will take on Utah at 1:30 p.m. The day concludes with Miami battling Michigan at 4 p.m.
On Nov. 25, play resumes with Iowa matching up with Navy at 11 a.m. Michigan faces Toledo at 1:30 p.m. The event concludes with Utah taking on Miami at 4 p.m.

“This event continues to grow the game of women’s college basketball and this strong field features some of the best brands in the game,” college basketball analyst and event contributor Debbie Antonelli said. “I’m really excited to watch these programs compete this November.”

ABOUT THE TEAMS
Iowa advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament a year ago while finishing 27-7 overall and tying for second place in the Big Ten at 15-3. The Hawkeyes have won 20 or more games in each of the past 10 seasons, tied for the longest in program history. Jan Jensen has led Iowa to wins in 50 of 68 games after two seasons as head coach.
Miami wrapped up its 2025-26 campaign at 18-15 overall and 8-10 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, advancing to the second round of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament. Third-year head coach Tricia Cullop led the Toledo program for 16 seasons, prior to her journey to Coral Gables, earning Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year accolades six times, leading the Rockets to five league regular-season titles and 11 postseason tournament berths.
Michigan advanced to the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight last season for only the second time in program history while compiling a 28-7 overall record and tying for second in the Big Ten at 15-3. Head coach Kim Barnes Arico has won more games than any basketball coach in school history – men or women – with 312 victories. She has guided the Wolverines to a program-best eight NCAA Tournament appearances and its first showings in the Sweet 16 (three times) and Elite Eight (twice).
Navy won the regular-season title in the Patriot League, posted a 22-9 overall mark and capped its 2025-26 season with an appearance in the Women’s Basketball Invitation. Navy’s 16 conference victories last season were the most in program history while head coach Tim Taylor and his staff were named the Patriot League Staff of the Year.
Toledo earned a 17-15 overall record and 9-9 record in the Mid-American Conference a year ago, falling just short of reaching the NCAA Tournament after losing in the MAC Tournament championship game. In her sixth season as a head coach, including her third at Toledo, head coach Ginny Boggess has led her teams to postseason play three times (Monmouth in 2023 and 2024 and Toledo in 2025). She has won
41 games in the past two seasons at Toledo.
Utah took part in the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament last season while posting a 19-13 overall record and 10-8 mark in the Big 12 Conference. It marked the Utes fifth consecutive postseason berth after earning bids in the NCAA Tournament the previous four seasons. Head coach Gavin Petersen, owns 38 wins leading the Utah program after two seasons.

Baha Mar annually plays host to one of the largest regular-season events in the sport of college basketball. Each November around the Thanksgiving holiday, 16 or more NCAA Division I men’s and women’s teams visit the stunning resort to compete in three basketball tournaments.
Each August, the resort also holds the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League, offering NCAA teams exhibition games against international competition as part of a foreign tour. The resort welcomed an event-record six teams to Baha Mar last month, including Arkansas, Cincinnati, Louisville, Texas A&M, South Carolina and Valparaiso. Past programs to attend for summer exhibition tours include Kentucky, Penn State, Rhode Island and Xavier.
